Work experience

Since 1990 up to the present day I have been working at Vasyl Stefanyk Precarpathian National University (till August 1992 – Ivano-Frankivsk State Teacher Training Institute named after Vasyl Stefanyk). Occupied the following positions: Assistant at the Chair of Russian and Foreign Literature (1990-1992), Associate Professor (1992-2009) and Full Professor (2009-2012) at the Chair of World Literature, from 2012 Head of the Chair of World Literature, from 2014 till now Head of the Chair of World Literature and Comparative Literary Studies.

Since 1987 I have published more than 150 scientific, scientific-methodological and scientific bibliographical works including the monographs “In F.I. Tiutchev’s world of poetry” (1997), “Theoretical study of philosophic lyrics and vital problems of literary criticism” (2007), the book “Profession from the perspective of humaneness” (2016), textbooks including “Medieval and Renaissance world literature: manual [for students of higher schools]” (2011, approved by the Ministry of Education of Ukraine), articles and methodological recommendations. The scientific works are published in Ukraine, the Russian Federation and the Republic of Poland.

Constantly take part in International, All-Ukrainian and Regional scientific, scientific-practical conferences on the problems of literary criticism methodology, theory of literature, history of literary criticism, history of Slavic literatures and methods of teaching literature related subjects in higher educational institutions.

Education

In 1983 graduated from Philology Department of Ivano-Frankivsk State Teacher Training Institute named after Vasyl Stefanyk, speciality “Russian Language and Literature”, qualification “Teacher of Russian Language and Literature”.

In 1990 completed the postgraduate course at T.G. Shevchenko Institute of Literature of Academy of Sciences of Ukrainian RSR (now NAS of Ukraine) ahead of time. In April 1990 defended the thesis “F.I. Tiutchev’s lyrics in the context of 19^th century Russian poetry” and obtained the degree of Candidate of Philology, speciality 10.01.01 – Russian Literature.

In November 1993 was assigned the title of the Associate Professor of the Chair of World Literature. In April 2008 defended the thesis “Philosophic lyrics: differentiation of types and genre integration” at T.G. Shevchenko Institute of Literature of Academy of Sciences of Ukraine and obtained the degree of Doctor of Philology, speciality 10.01.06 – Theory of Literature.

In November 2010 was assigned the title of Professor of the Chair of World Literature.

Repeatedly attended scientific training at T.H. Shevchenko Institute of Literature of Academy of Sciences of Ukraine.

Professional skills

In scientific sphere – organize and do scientific research related to different aspects of contemporary literary criticism.

In teaching – conduct lessons of various kinds and forms to classes consisting of different number of learners of different backgrounds.

Research in the fields of literary theory and literary criticism, methodology of literary criticism, history of Russian literature of the 19^th-20^th centuries, history of world literature from Ancient times to the Renaissance, comparative literary criticism (Ukrainian and Polish socio-literary relations), methods of teaching literary subjects in higher educational institutions, literary bibliography. Proposed an integrated. methodological approach to the study of literary and artistic phenomena, which is based on a synthetic combination of basic principles of G. P. Shchedrovitsky’s SMD (system of mental activity) – methodology by and philosophical G. G. Gadamer’s hermeneutics and allows neutralization of the negative consequences of scientism and borderline specialization of scientific activity in the field of literature science. Developed a theory of spatial interpretation of the category “genre” in relation to the lyrical genre of literature, applying it to the theoretical analysis of the phenomenon of philosophical poetry in the vector of distinguishing competence of epistemological spheres of general and applied theory of literature. Advocates the idea of significant intensification of the theoretical sphere of literary criticism and the organization of systematic methodological reflection of existing literary practices as a leading mechanism for qualitative change of the professional level of Ukrainian literature on literature in correlation with modern achievements of world humanities.

Author of monographs “In the poetic world of F.I.Tyutchev” (1997) and “Theoretical study of philosophical lyrics and topical problems of modern literary criticism” (2007), textbooks, as well as more than 100 scientific studies published in leading scientific journals of Ukraine (“Word and Time”, “Foreign Literature in the Schools of Ukraine”, “Collegium”, “Periodical of Precarpathian University. Philology”, “Problems of Literary Criticism”, “Russian Literature. Research”, “Notes of the Shevchenko Scientific Society”, “World Literature in secondary schools of Ukraine”, “Scientific Notes of NaUKMA. Philological Sciences”, “Philological Research”, “Gogol Studies”, “Visnyk of Lviv University. Series Foreign Languages”, etc.), Russia (St. Petersburg academic journal “Russian Literature”, Moscow journal “New Literary Review”, in the scientific collection “Bulletin of Tomsk State University. Philology”, etc.), Poland (Olsztyn scientific collection “Acta Polono-Ruthenica”, Rzeszów scientific collection “History and modernity in Russian literature”, etc.).

In 2020, in the Czech Republic there was published a textbook “Literary critic analysis of fictions text/work in the conditions of modern inter-scientific and interdisciplinary interaction” (Brno: with the support of the Central European Centre for Slavic Studies in cooperation with the Czech Association of Slavists and the Institute of Slavonic Studies, Faculty of Philosophy, Masaryk University, 235  p.)

He is the author of the first and currently only monographic study of the history of the Department of World Literature of Vasyl Stefanyk Precarpathian National University, which was published in the brochure “History of my department” (Ivano-Frankivsk: Publisher I. Tretiak, 2010. – 72 p.).

Member of the Specialized Academic Councils for the Candidate Thesis Defence for Comparative Literary Studies and Theory of Literature at the Volodymyr Hnatiuk Ternopil National Pedagogical University and for Ukrainian Literature at the Vasyl Stefanyk PNU (2010–2012). Member of the Candidate Specialized Council for Ukrainian Literature and Theory of Literature at Vasyl Stefanyk PNU (since 2015). Member of the Expert Council at the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine in Philology (2015–2017).

Chief of the editorial board of the collection of scientific articles “Sultanivski Chytannia” (“Sultanov’s reading”, since 2013). Editor-in-Chief of the collection of scientific articles “Literary Studies: a comparative aspect” (since 2014).

Initiator of the creation of “Cabinet of Methods of Literature named after Associate Professor Yuri Sultanov” at the Department of World Literature and the author of the idea of founding of an All-Ukrainian scientific-practical conference “Sultanov’s readings” as a permanent scientific forum at the Department.

From the second half of 2012 he has been the head of Prykarpattia Centre for Practical Comparative Studies, founded at the Department of World Literature of Vasyl Stefanyk Precarpathian National University by Doctor of Philology, Professor Volodymyr Matviishyn with the participation of Doctor of Philology, Professor Mark Teplinsky. Is a supervisor of PhD research projects in comparative literature and literary theory.

 Book of articles “Sultanivski Chytannia” is an annual officially registered in Ukraine scientific serial, which has been given an ISSN (International Standard Serial Number).

It has been established by Vasyl Stefanyk Precarpathian National University for publishing the results of the researches in scope of literary criticism and methods of teaching literature.

Its aim is to contribute to the development of literary criticism in Ukraine in the system correlation with modern humanity sphere evolution within the framework of organic combination of the theory-methodological experience with its possible practical application in scientific (literary criticism and philology) and educational activity (methods of teaching the philological disciplines – first of all literary criticism – in the educational institutions of all the levels of accreditation).

Since 2015 book of articles “Sultanivski Chytannia” has 2 separate editions: electronic edition (framed according to the international requirements) and a printed one (identical in content but with the reduced amount of referential and informative material).

Українська музика

Rakhilia Tymofiivna Rusnak

Рахіля Тимофіївна Руснак (нар. 20 серпня 1952, с. Ошихліби Кіцманського р-ну Чернівецької обл.) ‒ українська фольклорна співачка, виконавиця традиційних давніх пісень Буковини. Закінчила режисерський відділ Чернівецького культурно-освітнього училища. У 1982‒1986 навчалась на режисерському факультеті Рівненського інституту культури. У рідному селі в Будинку культури створила фольклорний ансамбль «Молодички». Самодіяльні артисти ансамблю займались збиранням і пропагандою пісенної народної творчості. Вони зробили й першу на Буковині виставу старовинного сільського весілля. У Кіцмані була керівником самодіяльного народного театру, а також організувала фольклорну групу, з якою займалась відродженням буковинських пісенних скарбів. Професійна співоча біографія артистки почалася з 1989 року, коли перемогла у радіоконкурсі конкурсі «Чисте джерело», а після фестивалю «Червона рута» отримала запрошення на роботу в Київ від студії «Кобза». За жанровими ознаками твори з репертуару Рахілі Руснак належать до ліричних, рекрутський пісень, балад й ін. Проте внаслідок виконавських характеристик, зокрема за рахунок «по-особливому щемливого звучання, яке нерідко межує з глибокого особистісного трагізму» (М. Хай), пісні в унікальній інтерпретації співачки набирають голосільницького змісту (недарма вона називає їх «плачами» чи «голосіннями»). Мабуть, тому відомі спроби копіювати спів і репертуар Рахілі Руснак виявилися невдалими.

Kvitka Cisyk (Kacey Cisyk) 

Квітка Цісик (04 квітня 1953, Квінсі, Нью-Йорк ‒ 29 березня 1998, Манхеттен, Нью-Йорк) ‒ українська співачка-сопрано, відома виконавиця українських народних пісень, її голос звучав у оперних та естрадних залах, в рекламних роликах. Народилася у родині українських емігрантів з Прикарпаття (ЗахіднаУкраїна). Її батько Володимир був скрипалем, музичну освіту здобув у Львові, 1942‒1944 був концертмейстером Львівського оперного театру, пізніше викладав в Українському музичному інституті в Нью-Йорку. У Mannes School of Music (закінчила 1974) під керівництвом хранителя віденської оперної традиції професора Себастіана Енгельберга отримала знання з вокалу та відшліфувала свій голос – колоратурне сопрано Дуже швидко зарекомендувала себе в шоу-бізнесі як досконала вокаліста в будь-якому музичному стилі. Її почали навперебій запрошувати до роботи над своїми альбомами поп- та рок-зірки: Майкл Болтон, Боб Джеймс, Лінда Ронстад, Роберта Флек, Девід Санборн, Карла Саймон, Мікіо Масуо, Квінс Джонс, а з Майклом Джексоном Квітка співала в одному хорі). Була однією з найбільш високооплачуваних виконавиць рекламних мотивів для радіо та телебачення. Її голос звучав в рекламних роликах таких брендів як Coca-Cola, American Airlines, Mr. Pibbs, Sears, JC Penney, Safeway grocery stores and Starburst candies. З 1982 Квітка була єдиним і незмінним голосом компанії Ford Motors. У 1977 здобула нагороду Оскар в номінації «краща пісня для кіно» за саундтрек до фільму «You Light Up My Life». У 1980 вона записала свій перший альбом «Songs of Ukraine» («Пісні з України»), 1989 – другий альбом «Two Colors» («Два кольори»). Альбоми є родинними проектами: перший чоловік Квітки – композитор-аранжувальник Джек Корнер; її другий чоловік Ед Ракович – інженер звукозапису, спродюсував їх; сестра Марія Цісик грала на піаніно, а мати Іванна стежила за чистотою вимови доньки; у записі брали участь близько 20 музикантів, які грали на понад 10-ти різних інструментах. Альбоми, яким немає рівних в українській легкій музиці, зібрали купу нагород у Канаді, а 1990 були номіновані на «Греммі» в категорії contemporary folk.

Trio Marenych

Тріо Маренич ‒ український музичний колектив 1973‒2004 рр. у складі: Валерій Маренич (вокал, гітара, бонги, кларнет), Антоніна Маренич (Сухорукова) (вокал, маракаси, гармоніка, бубон, бас-гітара) та Світлана Маренич (Сухорукова) (вокал, бубон, гармоніка). Виконував пісні в народному стилі переважно українською мовою. У репертуарі гурту були як народні пісні, так і авторські, в тому числі і власні, твори. Багато з народних пісень були аранжовані учасниками групи, в основному Антоніною Маренич. Найбільшу популярність група набула в СРСР наприкінці 1970-х ‒ 1980-х рр.

Зарубіжна музика

Жільбер Беко́ (справжнє ім’я ‒ Франсуа́ Жільбе́р Сійі, фр. François Gilbert Silly, 24 жовтня 1927, Тулон ‒ 18 грудня 2001, Париж) — французький співак, композитор, піаніст та актор, кавалер Ордену Почесного Легіону Франції. Навчався в консерваторії в Ніцці, але 1942 залишив навчання, щоб долучитися до французького руху Опору під час Другої світової війни. Почав писати пісні у 1948. Пізніше Едіт Піаф умовила його почати співати, і в 1953 він виконав «Mes Mai» та «Les Croix». Справжніми хітами стали його пісні «La Corrida», «Le Jour où la Pluie Viendra» та «C’est Merveilleux L’amour». У 1960 англомовна версія його композиції «Je t’appartiens»під назвою «Let It Be Me»стала хітом дуету «Everly Brothers», її також виконували Боб Ділан, Елвіс Преслі, Джеймс Браун та ін. Беко написав близько 400 пісень. Він 33 рази виступав в Олімпії, де одержав прізвисько «Мсьє 100 000 вольт», створивши образ наелектризованої людини, яка увесь час перебуває в русі. Його візитівкою були темно-сині костюми, біла сорочка і синя краватка в білий горошок («щаслива краватка»).

Рей Чарлз (Raymond Charles Robinson, 23 вересня 1930 – 10 червня 2004) – американський джазовий і кантрі-співак, піаніст, композитор, один із творців стилю соул (один із напрямів ритм-енд-блюзу). Елвіс Преслі, Джо Кокер, Біллі Джоел, Стіві Вандер вважають його своїм учителем. Френк Сінатра назвав його «єдиним справжнім генієм у нашій професії». Ключова постать в розвитку сучасної музики, входить у списки найкращих музикантів XX ст. У 1993 Білл Клінтон вручив співаку Національну медаль мистецтв, 1996 одержав звання «Скарб Лос-Анджелеса», його бронзові бюсти є у всіх Залах Слави, є також бронзовий медальйон, подарований Рею у Франції від імені французького народу. Посмертний альбом дуетів Чарльза з Норою Джонс, Веном Моррісоном та Елтоном Джоном, що має назву «Genius Loves Company», менше ніж за півроку став платиновим, чого покійному митцеві не вдавалося досягнути за всю свою 53-річну кар’єру.

Джо Кокер (справжнє ім’я – Джон Роберт Кокер, 20 травня 1944, Шеффілд, Південний Йоркшир, Британська імперія – 22 грудня 2014, Кроуфорд, Колорадо, США) – англійський співак, який починав як естрадний виконавець під псевдонімом «Vance Arnold», потім виконував рок і блюз у пабах як вокаліст команди «Grease Band». Джо Кокер провів на сцені 40 років і запам’ятався хітами «You Can Leave Your Hat On» та «You Are So Beautiful». Вважався одним із найбільш вокально сильних виконавців останнього півстоліття – у 2008 журнал «Rolling Stone» включив його до свого списку «100 найвидатніших співаків в історії». Серед найбільш знаменитих концертів з участю артиста – шоу «Princes Trust Gala», що відбулося під патронатом королівської родини Великобританії, концерт на честь дня народження Нельсона Мандели, грандіозне шоу у Берліні з нагоди падіння Берлінської стіни. У 2007 отримав Орден Британської імперії. У травні 2013 дав концерт у Києві, презентувавши альбом «Hard Knoks».

Шарль Азнавур (справжнє ім’я ‒ Шахну́р Вахіна́к Азнавурян, нар. 22 травня 1924, Париж ‒ 1 жовтня 2018, Мур’єс) ‒ французький співак, композитор, поет, письменник і актор вірменського походження. З свою кар’єру створив близько 1300 пісень, записав більше 100 платівок і дисків (тиражем більше 180 мільйонів штук), знявся у понад 60 фільмах. У різні часи співпрацював з Едіт Піаф, Жільбером Беко, Лайзою Мінеллі, Френком Сінатрою, Селін Діон, Патрисієюй Каас, Лучано Паваротті та Пласідо Домінго. Згідно з спільним опитуванням журналу «Time» та CNN, проведеному 1998 р., був визнаний кращим естрадним виконавцем ХХ ст. Відзначений десятками орденів та медалей багатьох країн. 26 грудня 2008 став громадянином Вірменії. Від 5 травня 2009 є послом Вірменії у Швейцарії, де постійно мешкає. Почесний посол Вірменії в ЮНЕСКО. Національний герой Республіки Вірменія.

Даніель Мелінґо (нар. 1 січня 1957) – аргентинський співак, композитор, яскравий представник «нового танго», лідер гурту «Los Ramones del Tango». Має фундаментальну (виконавську – кларнет і гітара, композиторську) консерваторську освіту. 1979 розпочав професійну кар’єру. З 1997, повернувшись з Іспанії до Аргентини, присвятив себе написанню й виконанню танго, випустивши на даний час 7 дисків, які схвально зустріли слухачі і критика.

Cesária Évora

Сезарія Евора (порт. Cesária Évora; 27 серпня 1941, Мінделу, Кабо-Верде –17 грудня 2011, Сан-Вісенті, Кабо-Верде) – кабовердійська співачка, відома також як «Босонога діва». Представляла традиційний жанр морна, а також португальське фаду. 1987 року в Лісабоні Сезарія знайомиться з французом кабовердійського походження Жозе да Сілва. Він запросив співачку до Парижа, де 1988 року було записано перший альбом співачки — La Diva aux pieds nus. Після виходу альбому співачка поступово стає відомою у Франції та інших країнах Європи. Проте справжній успіх прийшов у 1992 році після виходу 4-го альбому Miss Perfumado. 2004 — на прохання італійського співака Адріано Челентано взяла участь у записі його альбому «C’è sempre un motivo».

Paolo Conte

Паоло Конте (італ. Paolo Conte, 6 січня 1937 Асті, Італія) – італійський співак, піаніст і композитор, відомий завдяки своєму незвичайному голосу, барвистим і романтичним композиціям (що викликає асоціації як з італійської і середземноморської музикою, так і з південноамериканськими ритмами і франкомовними виконавцями, такими як Жак Брель і Жорж Брассенс) і його задумливою, іноді меланхолійною, лірикою. Сольна кар’єра Конте почалася з альбому 1974 року, названого його іменем. Потім були альбоми Aguaplano (1980-ті роки) та D’Amore Scritte Macchina (1990-ті роки). Колекція хітів 1998 року стала його першим релізом в США.
